Blantyre Campuses
Main Campus
Located near the suburb areas of Mandala and Mount Pleasant in the commercial and industrial city of Blantyre and with a scenic view of the Soche mountain and hills, KUHeS Blantyre campus, also popularly known as Mahatma Ghandi Campus, is the main and one of the biggest campuses for the University. The campus houses the administration unit, Lecture theatres and rooms, the famous John Chiphangwi Resource centre (Library), Laboratories, student hostels and cafeteria and many other facilities. It is situated along the Mahatma Ghandi road and in proximity to Queen Elizabeth central Hospital (QECH) and Beit cure International Hospital. It is about 17.7 KM away from Chileka International airport which is a 23 minutes’ drive and 2.6 km away from Blantyre city centre which is about a 30 minutes’ walk or 5 minutes’ drive. It is within walking distance of some Blantyre’s popular restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs, shopping malls and shops.
The campus has a Sports Complex that offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor sporting facilities to students from swimming, track and field, squash, tennis, netball, volleyball, to football and a gymnasium. As a High Performance Centre the Sports Complex is also used for National and International competitions. It also has restaurant and snack bar that serve delicious meals and snacks at affordable prices.
Kameza Campus
Kameza campus is located in Blantyre Kameza along the M1 road. It is 850 metres from Chileka Roundabout and Petroda Filling Station. It is 11 kilometers from Blantyre main campus, 300 kilometers from Lilongwe and 8.3 kilometres from Chileka International Airport. Kameza campus accommodates 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students who are studying specific Nursing programmes.
Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital Campus
The campus is adjacent to Queen Elizabeth central Hospital (QECH) which provides them the proximity of the hospital’s wards for their practical work. It is also near Beit cure International Hospital. It is 850 meters from the main campus, 11 kilometers from Kameza campus and 300 kilometers from Lilongwe campuses. It is about 18 kilometers away from Chileka International airport. QUECH campus is home to first year students who are studying specific Nursing programmes.
Lilongwe Campuses
Upper campus
Lilongwe upper campus is located in the economic and transportation hub of Malawi, Lilongwe, which is also the capital city of the country. It is the second biggest campus for the University and is situated in Area 33, along Mzimba road and adjacent to Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH). It is 26.7 KM from Kamuzu International airport which takes about 38 minutes if one is driving and It is 2.5KM from old Lilongwe town and about 3.3 KM from the new city centre. It is the main campus for almost all nursing programmes and home to both undergraduate and postgraduate students studying nursing programmes.
Lower campus
It is also located in the economic and transportation hub of Malawi, Lilongwe the capital city of country. It is situated in Area 33, along Mzimba road near kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH). It is 26.7 KM from Kamuzu International airport which takes about 38 minutes if one is driving and It is 2.5KM from old Lilongwe town and about 3.3 KM from the new city centre. It is located across from Lilongwe Upper campus. It accommodates 3rd year undergraduate students from Bachelor of Science Bachelor of Surgery programme and also some Postgraduate students studying specific health programmes.
Mangochi campus is located in Malawi’s lakeshore town of Mangochi which is located at the southern end of Lake Malawi, the fourth largest fresh water lake in the world. It is situated along the Bakili Muluzi highway and housed within the Mangochi district Hospital. It is about 222km away from the city of Blantyre.
This vast body of freshwater fringed by beaches of golden sand is not only a scenic wonderland but it provides water sport opportunities for those looking for something beyond sun, sand and swimming.
