Objectives

BT-BT Lab work package aims at establishing a world-class, internationally accredited research and diagnostic facility in Malawi in partnership with the University of Glasgow

Key Activities

  • Renovation and architectural design of laboratory space.
  • Procurement and installation of laboratory equipment.
  • Development of a Quality Management System.
  • Recruitment and training of staff for research and diagnostic services.
  • Accreditation process for international research standards.
  • Strengthening research collaborations and faculty exchanges between Malawi & Zambia
  • Setting up a forensic unit.

2 MSc and 1 PhD studentship for the projects.

Outcome

: Enhanced research capacity, internationally accredited laboratory services, and improved health diagnostics in Malawi and Zambia.
