Institutional Integrity Committee
The IIC promotes integrity, accountability, transparency, and ethical conduct across KUHeS. We support efforts to prevent corruption and maladministration while fostering a culture of responsible stewardship and public trust.
Who We Are
Established under Malawi's National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS), launched by the President on 5 February 2009.
IICs were created to strengthen integrity, accountability, and transparency in public institutions.
Intended to support corruption prevention and promote ethical conduct in public service delivery.
Our Mandate
The IIC is mandated to:

- Preventing corruption and maladministration
- Strengthening transparency and accountability
- Reviewing policies to reduce corruption risks
- Coordinating anti-corruption initiatives
- Conducting ethics and integrity training
- Receiving and addressing complaints
- Recommending corrective action on unethical conduct
- Supporting good governance across the University
Functions of the IIC
The Committee operates across five core functional areas to ensure institutional integrity.
Corruption Prevention
Identifying and mitigating corruption risks through proactive strategies and policy reviews.
Ethics Promotion
Championing ethical culture through training, awareness campaigns, and clear standards.
Complaints Handling
Providing a safe, confidential channel for receiving and addressing misconduct reports.
Policy Review
Evaluating institutional systems and policies to close governance gaps and vulnerabilities.
Client Service Standards
Setting and upholding service delivery standards aligned with accountability and integrity.
Good Governance
Supporting responsible stewardship and transparent governance across all University units.
