Dr Victor Ndhlovu is a molecular biologist with a research focus on infectious disease biology, particularly the fundamental biology of Mycobacterium tuberculosis cells that persist during therapy. These persistent cells are critical in understanding the prolonged treatment duration associated with tuberculosis.
His research also leverages genomic and geospatial data to unravel the transmission dynamics of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in high-burden TB/HIV settings. Through this work, he contributes to improved understanding of tuberculosis transmission and control strategies in resource-limited environments.
Dr Ndhlovu serves as a Senior Lecturer and Acting Head of Department in Foundation Sciences at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS), Malawi. He is also the Lead for the Blantyre-Blantyre Clinical Research Laboratory, where he supports translational research and laboratory capacity strengthening initiatives.
