Prof Mac Mallewa

Professor Mallewa is a professor of Paediatric Neurology, Paediatrics Child Health and holds a PhD in Neurovirology from University of Liverpool (UK); BSC in Medical Science from the University of St. Andrews (Scotland); Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Malawi; Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the University of Liverpool and Diploma in Management of Higher Education Institutes from Galilee International Management Institute (Israel).

He holds the following professional qualifications: Member of The Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh and Member of The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK.

Before his appointment as Vice Chancellor of KUHeS, Prof. Mallewa served as Vice Principal of College of Medicine, University of Malawi from 2014 to 2020, Acting Principal from 2020 to 2021. Prior to this, he served as Head and deputy head of College of Medicine, Paediatrics and Child health department and clinical lecturer at University of Liverpool.
