Overview and scope of the call:
The University of Tübingen, co-lead of the Cluster of Research Excellence in Advanced Infectious Diseases (CoRE-AID) Research and Training, is receiving applications for research exchanges for the winter semester of 2026 (October 2026 – March 2027). This call is aimed at graduate students (MSc or PhD) based at the University of Ghana, University of Cheikh Anta Diop, and Kamuzu University of Health Sciences, working on infectious diseases, and who have an interest on developing research skills while gaining access to a cutting-edge research ecosystem, and participating in an enriching cultural and academic exchange.
We are looking for highly motivated graduate students at the University of Ghana (2), University of Cheikh Ant Diop (1), and Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (2) to start a research exchange for up to 10 months at the University of Tübingen, Germany, starting on October 2026.

5th RDC SECOND CALL FOR RESEARCH AND INNOVATION ABSTRACTS
The Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) is thrilled to announce the 5th KUHeS Research Dissemination Conference, taking place from Wednesday, 30th September to Friday, 2nd October 2026 at the prestigious Amaryllis Hotel, Blantyre, Malawi.
This conference stands as Malawi’s leading platform for ground breaking research, innovation and transformative discussions. It brings together scientists, innovators, public health professionals, and policy-makers from around the world to tackle pressing health challenges through multidisciplinary research, innovation, and collaboration.
The theme for this year’s conference is Advancing Economic Development through Multidisciplinary Health Research and Innovation KUHeS, therefore invites researchers, innovators, scholars, and professionals to submit their abstracts in the following thematic areas:

NOTICE OF ANNUAL TUITION FEE ADJUSTMENT
Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) wishes to inform all students, parents, guardians, and the general public that during its 15th Ordinary Meeting held on 26 March 2026, the University Council approved a revision of annual tuition fees for generic undergraduate students following a recommendation from the University Senate.
Effective next academic year, 2027/2028 the annual tuition fee for generic undergraduate students will increase from K1,000,000.00 to K2,000,000.00.
In making this decision, KUHeS Council noted that tuition fees for generic undergraduate students were last reviewed in 2023. Since then, the operating environment has significantly changed making the current fee structure unsustainable.
The review was informed by several factors, including:
i. The need to align student financial contributions more closely with the actual cost of providing quality university education and training.
ii. The significant increase in the cost of teaching and learning due to persistent inflation, the depreciation of the Malawi Kwacha, and rising operational expenses
The University further wishes to clarify that this announcement applies only to generic undergraduate students. Revised tuition fees for other student categories will be communicated separately after the relevant approval processes have been concluded.

2025/2026 ACADEMIC YEAR INTAKE FOR MATURE ENTRY AND ECONOMIC FEE PAYING PROGRAMMES (READVERTISED)
The Kamuzu University of Health Sciences Council is pleased to announce the names of candidates who have been selected to two Mature Entry and MBBS Economic Fee paying degree programme offered by the University for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The total number of students selected is 59 comprising 17 Males (28%) and 42 Females (72%). This also includes 5 International Students.
The Council congratulates all the successful candidates. The Academic Year will commence on 8th June 2026, and admission letters will be sent to the emails of the successful candidates.
Please note that all payments to the University should be made through the University FDH bank account using student registration numbers provided in your admission letters.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR ADMISSION IN POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES UNDER BEGINNINGS FUND SCHOLARSHIP
Kamuzu University of Health Sciences in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) is implementing activities under the Beginnings Fund, which aims to strengthen Human Resources for Health (HRH) training in Malawi. As part of this initiative, scholarships are being offered to eligible candidates to undergo postgraduate training in Paediatrics and Child Health, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Anaesthesia and Intensive Care. The qualified candidates to undergo training in the following postgraduate programs will join the September 2026 intake.

RELEASE OF 2025/2026 ACADEMIC YEAR INTAKE FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES
The Kamuzu University of Health Sciences Council is pleased to announce the names of candidates who have been selected to various undergraduate degree programmes offered by the University for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The candidates were chosen on the basis of merit after meeting all the requirements for admission to the relevant programmes. There were 830 students selected in total, 372 of whom were males (44.8%) and 458 of whom were females (55.2%). Thirteen (13) international students are also a part of the candidates selected. Commencement dates for the 2025/2026 Academic Year shall be announced in due course. The admission letters shall be sent to successful candidate’s email address or may be collected at the University’s campuses in Blantyre and Lilongwe.
