The faculty also believes that child health learning is a lifelong, dynamic, participative, and transformative process. Lifelong learning is self and goal directed and uses pedagogical and androgogical perspectives of teaching and learning. Therefor the prospective student will be provided with effective learning which is relevant, responsive, non-threatening, pleasurable, fulfilling and meaningful. Both theoretical and practical approaches will be provided as they are necessary to promote critical thinking, clinical decision-making, and change management on child health skills. Therefore the curriculum is reflective, culturally safe nursing practice that meets needs of the children population. This will lead a prospective student to a Professional practice which will be guided by a code of ethics with emphasis on respect for human rights and dignity. Child health nurses after training will collaborate with professional peers to provide comprehensive health care and health promotion. Through education and clinical experiences, child health nurses will be prepared for leadership in child health management based on Malawi Vision 2063.
